Navy Fighter Weapons School - Top Scope class picture at Miramar Naval Air Station, San Diego, CA. The course instructed us on weapons and tactics designed to defend the fleet in time of conflict. Class members were normally Navy and Marines. Three USAFR pilots were included by special request to gain tactical expertise as to Naval fleet operations after our Air Force Reserve Wing was tasked with maritime operations to defend the shipping lanes of the North Atlantic. Training also included the Navy Light Attack Fighter Weapons School at Lemoore Naval Air Station, CA. In this photo, I am in the second row and third from the right.
